Abuja, March 27, 2026 – The Village Boys Movement (VBM) has fired the first major shot in what promises to be an intense grassroots campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election, announcing a nationwide “2 Million Man March and ADC Registration Drive” to push for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket for former Anambra Governor, Mr. Peter Obi. In a strongly worded press statement signed by Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke (Village Headmaster), the movement revealed that the mobilisation will begin with Phase One on Saturday, 28th March 2026, across 14 states: Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Plateau, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Enugu, Kogi, and Edo.
Phase Two, which will include major cities such as Lagos, Abuja (FCT), Rivers, Delta, Kano, Imo and others, will follow shortly with dates to be announced.The movement described the initiative as both a powerful expression of democratic will and a strategic effort to build a solid, verifiable political structure for Peter Obi within the ADC.
“This is not a one-day event; it is a coordinated movement designed to translate widespread public support into structured political power,” the statement read.
The Village Boys Movement further urged the leadership of the ADC to “act decisively and in alignment with the will of the people” by granting Mr. Peter Obi the presidential ticket without delay, describing the demand for credible leadership as “no longer negotiable.”The group also aligned itself with growing calls for a Southern Presidency in 2027, noting that several political parties and blocs, including the PDP, APC, Labour Party, and the Southern and Middle Belt Forum, have echoed similar sentiments.“The era of recycled governance must come to an end,” the statement declared.
The campaign poster for the march, which has been circulating widely on social media, carries the rallying cry:“March, Mobilise & Register for His Excellency Peter Obi across Nigeria’s State Capitals including the FCT – 28th March 2026.”Analysts view this development as a significant escalation in pro-Obi mobilisation following his reported defection to the ADC. The Village Boys Movement, which positions itself as the authentic grassroots voice of young Nigerians, is clearly working to convert emotional support for Obi into concrete party membership and visible street power.
