ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Second National Gender Inclusion Conference, #SheIsIncluded 2026, officially concluded in Abuja with an ambitious commitment to integrate 10 million Nigerian women into formal economic networks, followed by an evening gala dinner and awards presentation at the State House.
Organized by the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, the second day of the summit focused heavily on digital infrastructure, cross-sector delivery networks, and institutional accountability under the overarching theme, “Designing for Delivery: Financing, Systems, and Scale.”
Addressing delegates during the technical sessions, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, underscored a fundamental change in government policy, declaring that women must no longer be viewed merely as passive beneficiaries of government interventions, but empowered as active co-creators of national prosperity.
A central highlight of the proceedings was the unveiling of Ubuntu Tribe as a key technology implementation partner for the initiative. Presenting the system, Founder Mamadou Kwidjim Touré demonstrated a mobile platform designed to deliver job-relevant skills training in local languages directly through standard mobile phones. The platform issues verifiable digital credentials recognized by financial institutions to help female entrepreneurs access micro-loans, secure employment, and enter formal commercial supply chains.
Reinforcing the operational mandate, the Technical Adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion and Secretary of PreCEFI, Dr. Nurudeen Abubakar Zauro, stated that the summit represents a definitive pivot toward measurable execution, supported by structured coalitions tasked with monitoring 12-month delivery benchmarks across all 36 states.
The multi-day national summit reached its climax in the evening as cabinet ministers, representatives of state governors, bank executives, fintech innovators, and international development partners gathered at the Presidential Villa for a gala dinner and awards ceremony. The awards recognized public institutions and private sector pioneers who have spearheaded gender-responsive financial products, alternative credit scoring models, and grassroots inclusion drives, closing the conference on a note of celebrated achievement and renewed commercial commitment.
